Core java Notes and Learning
History And Introduction of java:
- ... The evolution of 'C' language shock the computer world.It fundamentally changed the way of programming.The creation of this language directed towards the need of structured efficient high level language, that could replace assembly code when creating system programs.
- To manage the complexity of 'C' language a new language with object oriented programming concept came to the market with some similarities of 'C' concept.
- C++ is a structured programming concept.
- OOP(object oriented programming) is a programming methodology that helps to organise complex through the use of inheritance,encapsulation and polymorphism.
- 'C' was developed by Dennis ritchie, where as C++ was a invention of Bjarne strousstrap in 1979.
- C++ stood upon fundamentals of 'C'.
Creation of java:
- Programmers using C and C++ faced some problems like platform dependency,compilation , pointer addressing,memory management and other related problems.
- The above type of problems lead them to think for designing a better,simple object oriented programming language.
- At last, James Gosling,Patrick Naughton, Chris Warth,Ed Frank and Mike Sheridan developed a new programming language at sun micro systems in the year 1991.
- This language initially called as 'OAK' and renamed as 'JAVA' in 1995.
- Bill JOY,Arthur Vanhoff, Jonathan Payne, Frank Yellin and Tim Lindholm developped orginal prototype for java language.
- The main reason of creating java is to support platform independent feature.
Difference between java and C++:
Java C++
*Platform independent *Platform dependent
*2 phase compilation *Single phase compilation
-Compilation
-Interpretation
*Support internet Application *Does not support Internet Application
*Efficient memory management *Memory management is poor compare to java
*Nothing global *Supports global methods and variables
*No Manual memory allocation compare *Uses pointer concept and manual memory
to pointer addressing management
*No operator overloading concept *Supports operator overloading.
*No support for multiple inheritance *Supports multiple inheritance
*Supports 16 bit representation as *Supports 8 bit representation known as
unicode and universal code ascii code.
